An Evening with Dr Thomas Sawner ('76), CEO of Educational Options - June 11th, 2009

We're honored to have Dr Thomas Sawner joining us on Thursday June 11th, 2009.

The meeting will be held at the Arlington Career Center, 816 South Walter Reed Drive,Arlington, VA. Social hour starts at 6:30 PM, followed by the presentation at 7:30 PM. The cost will be $20 per person--a light meal will be served.

Dr. Sawner is a Chamber of Commerce-recognized entrepreneur, a highly sought-after speaker, a philanthropist, and an accomplished fighter pilot. His distinguished background includes:

-CEO of Educational Options, Inc. (EdOptions), an accredited, Web-based provider of high school and adult education curriculum and the parent company of Blue Ridge International Academy, one of the nation’s first accredited online schools approved to grant full diplomas.

-Founder of River Oak Associates, which provides organizational improvement, leadership development, and executive coaching, focusing on the link between an organization’s culture and its performance.

-Founder of the Educational Opportunity and Research Foundation. In three years, the foundation has provided more than $394,000 in matching scholarships, training, and support services to urban schools.

-Over 20 years of operational experience as an Air Force fighter pilot and Air Staff Officer.

-A 1976 USAFA graduate. He also holds a Master of Aeronautical Science and a Master of Business Administration, and a Doctorate from the George Washington University Executive Leadership Program in Human Resource Development
